The Rise of the Machines


Self-driving cars have been catapulted into the awareness zone for many consumers recently with the debut of various self-driving cars at CES this year, one car actually drove itself to the show in Las Vegas from San Francisco. We discovered during some recent competitive research that Tesla’s 2015 models already have this technology built in but the cars won’t drive themselves just yet. Both Tesla and Google predict fully autonomous cars will be available to the public by 2020.

Our take

This technology adoption is going to be a colossal shift to our lives and particularly on the efficiency it brings to daily travel. This change will ultimately turn our commute into highly productive hours that could not only effect employment but even the need for high density housing. With Apple and Google competing for the in car technology in this space, clearly this is serious business that will shape our future.
