That’s when, good neighbours become good friends

Nabo is a new Australian social media platform that endeavours to bring neighbours together. Upon sign up, users are required to enter their street address and are then allocated to a group consisting of others from their community. Neighbours are encouraged to connect over a range of topics including local events, crime watch and local business recommendations. Nabo’s ambitious target is to reach 1million users by the end of 2015.

Our take

Technology and Facebook has enabled many to be more connected than ever, ironically, local communities and neighbourhoods are potentially more disparate than ever. The ability to harness local area connections, and allow neighbours to share community events and support local biz, may just actually put the social back into social!
