Snapchat saving snaps

Ephemeral app Snapchat is introducing a new feature for its users – Memories – the ability to save pictures and videos, to create a story collage. Users can post these as “flashbacks” or store them in a passcode-protected channel called My Eyes Only.

Our take

The LA based company seems to be making a move to attract older users, who are traditionally used to curating collections of photos, rather than fleeting moments that disappear after 10 seconds. Recently recording over 150m active daily snapchatters (more than Twitter), Snapchat appears to be pushing to an expanded user base alongside its global commercial operations – recently opening a local office in Sydney for Aussie brands to work with.
