Network Ten’s parent company has announced it will launch its streaming video on demand service in Australia by the end of 2018. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves told investors that they will leverage the acquisition of Ten as a gateway to launch CBS All Access by the end of the year.
CBS All Access has just launched in Canada in April 2018, marking the first territory in CBS’ push to expand the platform beyond the U.S. At the Deutsche Bank Media & Telecom Conference in March, COO Joseph Ianniello announced Australia would follow as the second market for CBS All Access expansion. “Wherever Netflix is, I don’t see why we won’t be there,” Ianniello said, referring to CBS All Access’ international ambitions of achieving 8 million subscribers by 2020.
