Bvlgari Vault

Luxury goods brand Bvlgari has teamed up with cyber security platform WISekey on an app that protects user passwords, banking information, pictures, messages and other forms of personal data. The app can be unlocked in a number of ways, including Touch ID and face recognition, whilst the user’s information is stored in a high-security bunker in the Swiss Alps. The app follows the 2015 launch of the Bvlgari smartwatch.

Our take

39% of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) worldwide say that online privacy and security is an issue of concern surrounding creation and preservation of wealth (Frank Knight Wealth Report 2016). In an effort to distinguish their products from mainstream competitors, high-end brands need to establish luxury solutions to these consumer problems. Bvlgari have done just that, addressing consumer concern with online security by developing a high-end solution that is sure to catch the attention of a luxury focused market.
