Buzzfeed and Twitter launch new morning show

Buzzfeed and Twitter have teamed up to launch a next generation morning show. Streamed daily via Twitter, “AM to DM” will follow the traditional breakfast TV format, reporting on top news stories and hosted by Buzzfeed News’ Executive Editor on Culture.
Launching in September, the program will be broadcast live within EST, and available for global access via the social media platform. Wendy’s, Bank of America and Toyota USA have jumped on board as sponsors.

Our take

News consumption has evolved along with social media. Users have an increased appetite for real time, accurate ‘fast news’. Interactivity with news via social has also risen from 48% to 54% amongst Australians YOY (Deloitte Media Consumer Survey 2017).
Buzzfeed and Twitter have responded to changes in the way people consume news – taking a traditional morning show format and refreshing it for the digital generation utilizing device-accessibility and integration of user-interaction.
