A new way to enjoy McDonald’s

McDonalds has moved into the delivery space. McDelivery, a partnership with UberEATS, launched globally last Thursday, July 26. To celebrate this launch, McDonald’s surprised and delighted customers with free merchandise, aptly named the McDelivery Collection. The McDelivery Collection is not available for sale but designed to be used or worn when you would typically order your McDelivery: including World Famous Fries slide sandals, a World Famous Fries sweatsuit, Big Mac onesies, a burger and Fries picnic blanket and a Big Mac pillowcase set.

Our take

This global launch points to our 2017 Consumer Trend, Nurturing the Supercustomer, where alpha retailers will continue to dial up customer experiences. Not only did McDonalds see the growing trend of convenient food delivery but they partnered with a brand with high penetration and experience in this space, UberEATS. Finally, they activated the launch with a fun global giveaway, gifting unsuspecting customers with exclusive merchandise and experiences.
