Apple ramps up AI

Apple is currently working on a microchip called the Apple Neural Engine, which will be dedicated to carrying out artificial intelligence (AI) processing on its iPhones, rather than relying on computer servers to process data sent to them in the case of digital assistants like Siri and Google Assistant.
