With half of their users now browsing on mobile, Reddit launched their first official mobile app – described by the app store as putting ‘films, kittens, science, kittens, politics and kittens at your fingertips’. It replaces popular third-party app ‘Alien Blue’ (acquired by Reddit in 2014), and will make for a faster, more modern and more usable app. It will also give back control to the company, to regularly introduce new features, and will ensure a standard ‘Reddit look and feel’ with the mobile website, strengthening the brand. Need more kittens in your life? There’s an app for that.
